Raja Vikramarka Movie Review, South New Rising Star Karthikeya New Movie 2024

Storyline

NIA agent Raja Vikramarka (Kartikeya) is assigned to protect Telangana Home Minister Chakravarty (Sai Kumar) as former Maoist leader Guru Narayan emerges from a coma after 15 years. Raja takes on a new identity as an insurance agent and tries to impress Kanthi (Tanya Ravichandran), the Home Minister's daughter, so that he can have direct contact with the minister.

The mission is to rescue Chakravarthy who is hiding. The NIA team thwarts Guru Narayan's first attempt to kill the minister, but Raja Vikramarka believes he may have a bigger plan. As they expected, Kanthi is kidnapped. How will Vikramarka save her?

  Analysis

'Raja Vikramarka' is based on a predictable thought. I have no hesitation in saying that the storyline reeks of illogic. The hero who saves the CM/PM/Home Minister's daughter as a secret agent is a cliché point itself. Moreover, the main conflict is not convincing at all. It's understandable if Guru Narayan, who has a history with the home minister, is the main villain, but the so-called twist (which we're not revealing here) seems completely absurd.

Nowhere in the film did we feel the seriousness of the NIA mission. No exciting elements. It's more of a commercial action drama with a hero romancing a seemingly completely dumb hero trying to pull off a comedy.

The film tries to be an action comedy but fails in both ways – action and comedy.

It must be said that Karthikeya has improved as an actor. He has been sincere in all his films and tries his best. But he also needs to pick up stories that justify his efforts. The less said about Tanya Ravichandran the better. Among the rest of the cast, Tanikella is good. Sudhakar Komakula is quite deserving.

The production values and cinematography stand out. Music is a big minus.

When the plot itself isn't believable, nothing matters. Despite Kartikeya's good efforts, 'Raja Vikramarka' is not entirely convincing.
